Like everything else, Easter was definitely different this year. But we still had a lot of fun together in the week leading up to Easter and on Easter Sunday.
We started out coloring and cutting out a palm leaf craft that our preschool ministry sent out. We waved them as we read the story about Palm Sunday.
One of my friends posted this idea on Sunday afternoon. We went on a long walk and collected lots of leaves and branches. Then we glued them on this paper to make our own Hosanna sign.
During the week we tried out a few Easter egg activities. This one started as just moving eggs into an egg carton with tongs. Then I added some magnetic letters into the eggs and wrote the letters on our magnetic chalkboard for Cooper to open the eggs and match the letters. I also put gummies in one of the eggs to keep him interested :)
And I found this Easter egg hunt online to do with my preschool class. When that didn't happen I tried it with Cooper instead and he matched them all!
We also went and hid eggs for our friend Sam one morning during the week. We filled them with snacks and Cooper loved "hiding" them.
On Friday afternoon, Cooper's cousins came and hid eggs in our front yard for him. He enjoyed his first Easter egg hunt of the year!
Good Friday service from home-- enjoying our juice together while our pastors led communion.
Sunday morning we met with our Lifegroup online and then watched our church service. Usually on Sundays we let Cooper watch shows on the iPad while we focus on the service. On Easter he watched some Easter shows on the iPad (our preschool ministry's weekly videos as well as Miss Pattycake's Easter Eggstravaganza) while we met with our group and then we had him watch the church service with us. He was pretty interested in the music and our friend Bryan (who is one of our pastors) on the screen.
After church we did an Easter egg hunt in the front yard. Cooper loved opening the eggs and seeing what was in them all!
We are usually with my family on Easter Sunday, so my mom made and porch delivered Easter lunch for us. It was delicious and so nice to have a home cooked meal that we didn't have to cook!
We ended the day with an "Easter parade." Our church organized these parades to go visit some of the elderly in the church. We went with 2 other families from our group who live in the area and played our instruments and said Happy Easter to a few church members!
