February iPhone Rewind

It's hard to believe another month has passed!  Here's a look back at our February:

I shared pictures of Cooper's new bed--but the process of getting it set up was long.  We hired someone to come assemble it for us and when he got everything together he found that we were missing some bolts.  We got the bolts so then I went through everything and realized we were also missing some nuts.  So I was taking pictures to send to Wayfair to request the replacement parts.  Luckily we got all the parts fairly quickly and got it set up!

Erin and I went away for the weekend and this is the only picture I took :). We rented an AirBnb on a lake in East Texas and enjoyed having a relaxing weekend.  This picture is from dinner our first night.  The rest of the weekend was spent resting, reading, shopping, eating out without toddlers, and generally enjoying some adult conversation and not disciplining toddlers!

Cooper's Forky cookie for Valentine's Day was a huge hit.

I also bought him a set of puzzles and he is loving them.  This is the first time he's really been into jigsaw puzzles.

I had to laugh when I saw someone post this recently.  Cooper has all the questions and some days I just feel out of words to respond to him.  It's a fine line between encouraging his curiosity and not exhausting myself talking to him by 9 am ;)

All the pictures of my sweet sleeping boy.  He insists on turning his light on after we tuck him in, which gives ample opportunity to see him sleeping when we go turn it off.  Love his sweet sleeping self (especially considering the above picture about all the questions!)

We are starting to organize baby clothes for little brother and had brought in some boxes from the shed.  Cooper asked if he could bring Miles' clothes into his room, so here he is pushing the boxes of clothes into the room.

We went to one of cousin Chase's basketball games and this is how Cooper spent the whole game.  On the walk in he decided it was going to be loud and nothing we said could convince him otherwise.  So he covered his ears for the whole hour.  But he was still really into the game!

Batting practice in Grandnanny's backyard!

Cooper recruited Daddy, Pappaw, and Nanny to play baseball with him in Grandnanny's yard.

My wedding dates for Justin and Abbey's wedding.  It was a fun weekend with family in Oklahoma!

We got the curtain for under Cooper's bed and he is big fan.  He talks a lot about his tent and wants to hide there and also wants everyone to join him under there.  Can you spy him in this picture?

I took Cooper for his first dentist appointment this week and he did great! The dentist was really sweet, explained things well, and was encouraging about what we're doing at home.

We finished off the month with a birthday party for a friend from school.  Cooper loves his friend Annelise and was excited about her birthday.  He got to play with and sit with his friend AJ for cupcakes and they both enjoyed them to the full!

Cooper's New Room

I realize I haven't shared a lot of details of our "new" house.  Between starting teaching MDO, moving, pregnancy, and a 2 year old I just haven't had a ton of time to get things settled or to take lots of pictures or share much of it yet.  But we finally got Cooper's room settled so I thought I'd share a glimpse of his big boy room.
I told Cooper I wanted to take some pictures of his new room and he said "take a picture of me!"  He was so proud to show it all off.

Another view from the door.

When we first started talking about bed options I had thought a low loft bed could be fun.  Since Cooper's room isn't all that big, it gives him some more floor space.  We have ordered a curtain to go under the bed to make a tent, but it's not ready yet.  We'll see if he likes it as much as he has in the pictures.  But so far he is loving his stairs bed-- it's been less than a week but he is so excited to get in it every night and afternoon and he's actually sleeping better than usual right now.   In the picture above he's showing off one of his favorite features--he gets so excited about being able to play under his bed.

We knew we were going to be getting Cooper new furniture around the beginning of this year, so we didn't hang any of his decorations until after we got that settled--it's so nice to have it all a little more put together.  We reused most of the decorations we already had from his nursery.  His Cooper's dugout sign, Little Slugger sign, and Joshua 1:9 Bible Verse all came from there.

He showed me where he wanted to hang his metal baseball and hat sign as well as his bat that everyone signed at my shower for him.  We bought him a new bookshelf since that seems more useful than the cubbies for him right now.  We have books on it as well as shoes, socks, and underwear so he can access them easily.  The dresser was made my by great-grandfather and it was at my grandparents' house when I was growing up.  When my Grandpa moved out of his house he wanted to make sure it went to someone in the family and I was happy to take it.  David and I have been using it since we got married, but we finally upgraded to something a little bigger-- and I love that this dresser has found it's home in Cooper's room!

Here he is the first morning he slept in his bed-- still asleep at 7:45!  He absolutely loves it and we are happy with how everything turned out!

All of his old furniture has now made it's way to the nursery for baby brother and we are looking forward to getting that all set up soon!
