Ever since my mom's birthday in early March, Cooper has known that his birthday was the next one in the family. So pretty much every day he asked if it was almost his birthday. I decided to make a countdown chain for him once we got home from our Spring Break trip, and then when that time came things looked so different that I decided to add an activity for each day of the countdown to help build the anticipation and fun for his birthday. So here's a look back at how we counted down to Cooper's 3rd birthday.
March 19: Watch Cooper's 1 year video
I've made a video for each of Cooper's birthdays that has pictures and videos of the previous year, so we kicked off the countdown with his first yearly video.
March 20: Watch a Disney Ride
A Facebook friends posted a link that had a list of Youtube videos of going on Disney rides. Since Cooper daily packs his bags to go to Disney I decided to make this a part of our countdown too. His favorite as this Frozen ride.
March 21: Family movie day (or movie night)
March 22: Play with new ramps and trains
I had bought Cooper a new basketball goal and the lady who was selling it offered some of her other boys toys including a bunch of Vtech ramps and train tracks. So we pulled those out this day for a new toy.
March 23: Play with play doh
This is something we don't do very often, so Cooper loved it!
March 24: Watch Cooper's 2 year video
March 25: Bake Cookies
We used some cookie cutters I bought recently to make some letter and number 3 cookies along with Football helmets and baseball hats.
March 26: Make cape and shield
Cooper has been very into capes lately and has been pretending different things are shields, so we made a cape out of an old adult shirt, a shield out of foam, and a long sword out of cardboard and foil
March 27: Watch/read How do Dinosaurs Say Happy Birthday
Cooper loves the "How do Dinosaurs..." books so when I saw that the Happy Birthday one was part of the save with stories instagram and Facebook (where celebrities read kids books on video) I added that to our list
March 28: Birthday interview video
March 29: Read Cooper's Baby Book
Cooper loves looking at our photo books so we took some time to read through his baby book together
March 30: Bake cupcakes
March 31: Watch Cooper's 3 year video
April 1: Presents!
