Even though things are a little bit out of the ordinary right now with trying to sell our house, we still managed to have a pretty good day for Cooper's 2nd birthday!
He actually slept in a little, so we went to get him up before David left for work. We went in singing "Happy Birthday" and he was just covering his eyes saying "sunny sunny" over and over again after turned on the light. But he quickly recovered and was awake and ready to go.
We put on his birthday shirt and grabbed a few pictures with his number blocks. He wanted to hold one, so I put one on the shelf and he held one.
Then he had his first-ever donut! His birthday was a MOPS day and I had to take a "bread" for breakfast so I planned to stop at the donut store for a little donut date and grab some donut holes for MOPS. He didn't really know what to think at first and actually first ate the "hot dog" from his sausage roll.
But he figured out the donut thing pretty quickly and then would smile really big and yell "donut!" over and over. The ladies at the donut store got a big kick out of him. After breakfast we headed to MOPS where Cooper played with friends and I enjoyed time with my discussion group.
I didn't get any pictures, but after MOPS we had an impromptu lunch date with our friends Mrs Jenny and Sutton at Chick fil A. Sutton and Mrs Jenny are 2 of Cooper's very favorite people-- he talks about them all of the time. So when I realized our lunchtime was open I asked if they wanted to head to lunch with us after MOPS and they agreed. It was a fun time with sweet friends!
After nap we went on a walk around the neighborhood where Cooper collected acorns and ran around.
David got home and we headed out to dinner. Since we didn't really know what showings we might end up with on Cooper's birthday we didn't plan much. We ended up not having any showings since it was a Monday, but we also hadn't made dinner plans. On our way to the car our sweet neighbors stopped us and gave Cooper a balloon and some sand toys they bought for his birthday. He loved that so much!
We gave Cooper a few options for dinner and he chose to go to Raising Cane's at the mall (yes he was very specific that we go to the mall Raising Cane's). We enjoyed some chicken, fries and toast.
It was getting close to bedtime by the time we finished dinner and Cooper asked to go play. We ended up giving him the choice between getting ice cream or playing since we didn't really have time for both and he chose to play. We expected him to throw a fit about wanting ice cream after playtime was over, but he didn't think about it again!
We wrapped up the day and headed home for bed. After Cooper went to bed, David and I spent the night assembling his new Cozy Coupe from his Aunt Jarla and Uncle Marshall and their family.
He was pretty excited when he came out Tuesday morning and saw it!
Overall, I think it was a good day for our little 2 year old!
