11 months
Weight: 20 lbs 13 oz
Diaper Size: 3
Clothing Size: 6-9 months
Things you Love: playing peek-a-boo (you cover your face and smile now), clapping your hands along with songs, toy ducks, your push toy for walking behind, shakers, eating, getting the towels out of the kitchen cabinets, laughing, looking out the window, playing with doors, gates, cabinets, and drawers.
Things you Don’t Love: Diaper changes, you just want to roll over and you usually scream a ton because you don’t want to be confined! Being told no, which is happening more and more as you explore and find things you can’t have. Leaving mommy and daddy to go to the church nursery.
Eating: You are still a pretty good eater, although you are starting to get pickier and if you don’t want something you will throw it off your tray-- we are working on helping you ask for more to get the foods you want, but a lot of our meals end up with your tray getting taken away after you throw food (and a few reminders that food stays on your tray). You love all fruits, cheese, ham, chicken, eggs, oatmeal, tomatoes, and yogurt. Veggies are hit or miss, but you’ll usually eat some of them.
Milestones: You were using a similar hand motion (like waving) for about 5 different words-- hi, bye, milk, duck, and want/more. We know bye because you say buh with it and duck you say duh with it, everything else we just try to figure out based on context! We did finally work on “more” enough that you will do the real sign for more so that has helped! You are pulling up on everything and standing with support and will let go, but you’re not trying to take any independent steps yet, although it feels like it’s coming soon! You also finally started babbling mama this month!
Memorable Moments: Hearing “mamama” from you! Your first ear infection and trip to urgent care. Trying out a new baby music class. We survived our first weekend with daddy away.
Cooper Paul, this month went by so quickly! You are into everything this month and are exploring more and more of our home. You are also becoming opinionated and letting us know when you don’t like something that we did. You still make me laugh every day. You love playing with us and finding us and being close to me no matter what I’m doing. Cooper love, life with you is always an adventure. I can’t believe in a month we’ll be celebrating your first birthday! But I am so grateful for the 11 months we’ve had together and I can’t wait for all that lies ahead.
