Cooper's First Rangers Game

Yesterday Cooper got to go to his first Rangers game!  Those who know David, know that the Texas Rangers are one of his very favorite things, so we have been trying to find a time to take Cooper to a game.  We thought a night game would be too hard for him, so we'd been on the lookout for an afternoon game.  Almost every afternoon game is on a Sunday and that is when our Community Group meets, so we weren't sure if we'd be able to make it work.  But this year Chase asked for Rangers tickets for his birthday, so my mom offered to get tickets for the whole family for an afternoon game, so we decided to jump on the chance to spend the afternoon with family at the ballpark!

Cooper was all ready for the game in his hat and noise cancelling headphones.  We had talked about buying headphones but kept putting it off.  So on Saturday we made a last minute trip to Buy Buy Baby to pick some up.  And we are really glad we did!  Our seats were in the All You Can Eat Homerun Porch so they would be guaranteed to be in the shade, which was so nice--but it meant the echo of the speakers was really loud for all of the announcements and music.  So we were glad we didn't have to worry about his little ears!  Cooper was pretty tired when we got to the game-- he had stayed awake the whole drive there talking to my mom and Aunt in the back seat, so he didn't get a nap.  After about 30 minutes at the game he crashed and took a good little nap in the Lillebaby.  Then he woke up and enjoyed the afternoon with us!

He spent a lot of time in the Lillebaby hanging out with either David or me.  We got to put our Rangers suckpads to good use for the game!

But we also took him out for part of the game and he sat in our laps or with Grandma--and even Uncle Jeremy got in on holding him for a while.

 Happy boy at the game!
A Dream come true for this Rangers-loving daddy-- enjoying his son's first baseball game

We had a great afternoon with family.  It was beautiful weather and a lot of fun.  If the Rangers had pulled off a win it would have been perfect--but it was a great experience for Coop's first game!
