Lake Adventures

With COVID life, our main adventures have been outside.  The summer heat has put a damper on some of that and honestly our first few outings after Miles was born we tried a little too much too soon, so we had put the brakes on many outings.  But we've been talking about checking out a park at Lake Lavon for a few weeks, so we decided to try that out this past Saturday.

We went to Ticky Creek Park and it was a great location for the morning.  It has free day entry and lots of trees so we could set up our chairs and stuff in the shade.  Then we headed down to the water.

Cooper was all ready to swim!

He and Daddy headed out into the water.  Cooper is loving swimming with his lifejacket on this summer, so he swam around while David stood with him.  He spent lots of time splashing and playing.

And I hung out with this guy.  A piece broke off our carrier right as I put Miles in it when we got there-- David was able to tie it up so it held him but it still made me pretty cautious to do too much with him!

Cooper also loved looking for rocks to throw into the water.

Miles and I spent some time resting in the shade while David and Cooper swam.

Then Cooper led us on an exploring hike around the lake and through the fields at the park.

After our hike the boys went back down to the water for a bit to splash

and to build a sand castle.

And I hung out with this guy and fed him.

They finished the morning off with a game of football.

We headed out there right when we got up and stayed until lunch time and we could have stayed a lot longer.  Cooper had a blast and we will definitely be back to the lake soon!
