100 Hours Outside

Since we're in the midst of another year at home, I thought it would be fun to try the 1000 hours outside project.  After we did Superhero School and Christmas School last Fall, Cooper said he didn't want to do school anymore-- so our main focus of our time right now is spending as much time as we can outside, exploring and playing and visiting new parks and trails.

We hit our first 100 hours outside on March 10.  I don't know if we'll hit 1000 before the year is over, but it's fun to focus on being outside as much as we can.  Cooper loves exploring and we're enjoying eating meals outside when the weather is nice.  And it's just nice for all of us to get out of the house and enjoy some sunshine!

100 hours of family time, exploring creeks, riding bikes, napping in the stroller, visiting the zoo and the arboretum, playing in our yard (usually in pajamas), meals on the back patio, playing soccer, riding in the carrier.  We've played in snow and puddles, we've played in single digit weather and almost 80 degree weather.

It's been a fun adventure this year and we're already on our way to our next 100 hours...

Months of Miles: 10 Months

Diaper Size: 5

Clothes size: Mostly 12 months

Things you love: babbling, grabbing, sucking your thumb, eating foods, crawling, laughing with your brother.

Things you don't love: when we take things away, when we won't let you grab something (phones, paper, etc.), when Mommy leaves the room.

Milestones:  You've started crawling on your belly this month and have gotten pretty good at getting around each room.  You babble like crazy and have started trying to do a few baby signs--especially for "milk."  You are still loving foods and are eating a variety of flavors and textures, feeding yourself well.  You also started clapping this month.

Miles, it feels like all the months of your life have been a weird mixture of very crazy and not a lot going on.  We still are home most of the time and aren't around a ton of people, but with work being done on our house, a few park playdates with friends, and some visits to see family it feels like we've been out of routine all month.  But you take it in stride and are happy to be along for the ride.  You just love being with us and are happy as can be to be with your people, no matter where you are.  As you've started crawling you're exploring all new things in our house-- and while it can be exhausting making sure you're not getting in to things you're not supposed to, I also love watching you light up when you do something new.  It's so fun seeing you continue to grow into who you're made to be.
